This one hit home :) In fact, I stopped applying for creative writing positions because of the rates they want to pay + my inability to match my requested rate with a nice portfolio, as most of the work I've done so far had confidentiality clauses attached... I now only apply for translation services, but I often cross the lines back and forth between needy and overconfident :/
